the materials
KAREN VOGT is committed to using only upcycled leather.
For each collection, Karen Vogt chooses the leather out of unused stock from major leather goods brands. She bases her choices on quality, colors and quantities available.
This makes it possible to use already produced leather and to regularly create new collections, in limited editions. Our bags follow a responsible approach and play a role in limiting overproduction, in this concept of "upcyling".
How to take care of me
For leather
The quality of my tanning guarantees good resistance to the color you have chosen. To take care of me, don't forget me in the rain, and don't let me get dehydrated by staying too long in the sun, that's not what I prefer!
What's best for me is a little massage with a colorless cream once a year. So that I keep my shape, do not hesitate to hang me by the handles (if I am a bag, not a pouch) and stuff myself with tissue paper or newspaper. Unpadded, I can take bad irreversible folds . And wrapping myself in my cover when I sleep is a good way to protect myself.
If I have a semi-aniline tanning (celadon and yellow calfskins), I need extra-care because my protective layer is thinner. If a few raindrops were to fall on me, small temporary stains would appear. No worries, they will disappear on their own as they dry, without leaving any ring.
For canvas
If I get stained, use a damp cloth to gently rub off the stain. Obviously, I don't like chemicals.
For bags
So that I keep my shape, hang me by the handles (if I am a bag, not a pouch) and stuff myself with tissue paper or newspaper. Unpadded, I can take bad irreversible folds . And to protect myself, I like to be wrapped in my cover when I sleep.
Whether I'm made of leather or canvas, never put me in the washing machine! Even in canvas, I have reinforcements and leather details that don't go in the machine.
